So I'm running with my guild through TOC...again and I look and realize that I'm now...and pretty regularly put in the hunter group. I asked my guild leader about hit and I was told the main thing I now bring to a raid is my Racial bonus of +1 to hit.

I miss the days of being a mana battery, the one that could MC on the bosses (all are immune on VC) or even when VE and VT were looked at as a favor to the raid.

Can anyone renew my faith in a class I still love to play?

thanks

~Abs~

PS I need a hug

/hug :D

I guess we're usefeul in case the Boomkin will die early as our survivability is kinda awesome... and you be happy that you're a Draenei : you still bring something "unique" and useful.

Yeah, right now the best thing we have going for us is survivability, which looks good when you're one of the last ones standing on a wipe.

Once everyone knows fights well and performs properly is when everyone notices all our flaws :-P

The 3.3 buffs should help us a bit....or just get into a guild not quite as geared ;-)

Thanks folks...as whiney as this sounds being a female, playing a class that's been so beaten down makes raiding less then fun at times, I was told once that my job was to stand there and look pretty...i even read a thing by blizz with the statement "Shadow was only meant as a leveling spec" Stoopid blizz lol

Latest changes might help. Keep the faith, and read Eoy's comment about the latest PTR updates :
I think I just got my raid spot back
Crossing fingers and lighting a candle : I do looove play my priest as Shadow too. (still gearing my alt Boomkin in case of...)

3% hit, replenishment, VE heals (GG anub p3). Plus we look better than everyone else.

Shadowpriests aren't bottom dps (maybe in 10 mans) and still have plenty of utility.

Misery is not necessary for raids
Replenishment is not necessary for raids
VE heals counts for near nothing in raids
We are blue shadows, we look like a graphics bug

Very few buffs are necessary for raids. You can raid without heroism, sunder armor/expose weakness, etc, totems, auras, crit debuffs, etc. In fact I can't think of a single buff that the raid couldn't live without.

Of course, they are very helpful. In the same way that 3% hit and replenishment are very helpful.

To be honest I'm beginning to think you are a troll so probably won't bother responding to your posts in future.

Well, I don't know what a troll is so... But I guess it's all good

I mean ppl in here have been more than helpful and I am grateful for that. It gave me that extra DPS I was looking for when I still wanted to work on my shadowpriest.

But I just don't wanna spend my time in WoW with this Sisyphean task.

So it's OMG :30 in the morning and I finally talk myself into hopping on the test server...yes i know things will change a bit when they actually drop the patch, and YES I know that in the actual game things may change...but ya want to know what else I know.....

I know that just beating on a target dummy with only my own buffs my single target DPS went up about 2K...that's before playing with the spec at all....get ready for a new kinda rotation (yes we are still priority base) but with the ability to get 2 mindflays in before MB cool down...life is getting a bit brighter in the shadows.....

You have zero boomkins in raids then?

We run without any moonkin. It's not really a choice me made, it just happened that way. Basically the moonkin we had quit before Ulduar launch and we never bothered recruiting another since myself + elemental shaman cover all the moonkin buffs + sp totem.

Yes, at the moment elemental totem is not that great anymore (loldemo locks) but Elemental Oath for example is still superior to Moonkin Aura because of range.

We also run with 2 shadowpriests nowadays, way to gimp ourselves huh?

P.S. It's been previously said in this thread but VE is awesome on Anub heroic. On said fight our damage is actually very competitve also.

For me atleast, my dps in Hardmode 25 TOC
Northrend Beasts 6500DPS (Multidot Snowbolds and the other Jormunger, dots also tick while stunned by Icehowl)
Lord Jaraxxus 6250DPS Multidotting the mistresses and Infernos.
Faction Champs i go Disc
Twin Valks 7500-9000DPS Depending on how lucky i get catching balls (1-2) Empowerment's
Anub'arak 7500-8000 DPS Multidot 5 Targets and Mindsear off the boss, if there was a boss in TOC that spriests are good for, this is it.

VE Is a very awful group heal, but its Very good for Anub'arak since everyone in the raid should be sitting at 1000hp untill they get hit by Penetrating Ice.
Jol/leader of pack is enough for melee
Jol/VE or Totem covers the casters.

Only problem is that the we sit at 10k HP depending on crits <_<
