Conqueror's Leggings of Sanctification - http://ptr.wowhead.com/?item=46195

#1 244.24 = 82*.2+60*.22+72*.62+132+2*19

Yes, I know they are the healing pants, but they are hot. The 2 and 4-pc T8 bonusses still put the T8 gloves above the Handwraps of the Vigilant. Then again, the Tier bonusses also put the pants higher.. Decisions, decisions. Which Tier pieces to go for.

Hello there. This is my first post here and I've enjoyed reading about all the theories you've come up with. Great site!

I've been digging around in the forums about the upcoming gear. I found a pretty nice Excel document by shoot2thrill which I've been using to compare different gear setups people have made. But then I found Carrieann's setup and changed 3 things and it seems that I've come up with the best one this far.

Here goes (sorry If I don't use links! I'm not that good at forums!)

Head: Conqueror's Circlet of Sanctification (CSD + Runed Scarlet Ruby): 313.34 PP
Neck: Pendant of Fiery Havoc (Potent Monarch Topaz): 181.65 PP
Shoulder: Conqueror's Mantle of Sanctification (Runed Scarlet Ruby): 174.17 PP
Back: Drape of Mortal Downfall (Potent Monarch Topaz): 178.38 PP
Chest: Conqueror's Raiments of Sanctification (Powerful stats + 2 Runed): 308.22 PP
Wrist: Bracers of Unleashed Magic: 149.62 PP
Gloves: Handwraps of the Vigilant (Exceptional Spellpower + 2 Runed): 229.86 PP
Belt: Sash of Ancient Power (3 runed (belt buckle)): 229.14 PP
Leggings: Conqueror's Pants of Sanctification (Brilliant Spellthread + 2 Runed): 275.02 PP
Boots: Boots of Fiery Resolution (Icewalker + 2 runed): 219.58 PP
Ring1: Signet of Manifested Pain : 134.55 PP
Ring2: Frozen Loop : 157.5 PP
Staff: Staff of Endless Winter (Greater Spellpower(staff) + 2 Purified Twilight Opal): 802.36 PP
Wand: Scepter of Lost Souls : 78.1 PP
Trinket1: Flare of the Heavens : 232.54 PP
Trinket2: Illustration of the Dragon Soul : 195 PP

I've not included any of the special profession enchants nor put any enchants on specific items that could be different depending on what profession you have. This should be a list of what anyone would have with this gear.

With this gear and with these enchants and gems (remember, you have to include your own professions special enchants) you'll come up with these numbers:

Intellect: 922
Spirit: 359
Spellpower: 2504
Critical strike rating: 581
Haste rating: 488
Hit rating: 298

Total PP: 3859,03
Total PP with 4piece bonus: 4013,03

There might be errors in this one (I just did some quick calcs about CSD and Flare of the heavens).
In my excel I haven't come up with anything better than this yet. Feel free to comment! My personal thought would be that it's quite haste heavy (I prefer crit over haste), but it's still the highest PP I've seen this far. Calculations for the PP is made from these numbers by Izolight:

Int: 0.17PP
Spirit: 0.18PP
Crit: 0.65PP
Haste: 0.62PP
Spell hit: 1.16PP
Spellpower: 1PP
4 piece bonus: 154PP

Updated some items with wowhead tooltips instead of mmo-champion's images.

(also check the thread I've started for this: Scaling Coefficients)

*These are the results from using the latest trunk build of SimCraft (build 1960) which is updated for PTR build 9733 of 3.1.0.
Do not use for earlier versions.*

These tests were run with profiles manually increasing or decreasing stats compared to the baseline rather than using calculate_scale_factors until a possible bug is resolved with that.

The tests were run with 30000 iterations.

There were 3 "sets" tested.

The sets were:
==========

1) BiS T8 gear set and increasing stat values in turn (except for +hit rating).
2) BiS T8 gear set and decreasing stat values in turn (incl. +hit rating).
3) BiS T7 gear set and increasing stat values in turn (except for hit rating).

There were of course baseline BiS T8 and BiS T7 profiles executed.

The results:
========
For set 1 (BiS T8 increasing stat values):
sp: 1.498
crit: 1.0696
haste: 0.9672
spi: 0.3412
int: 0.3336
hit: 2.019

For set 2 (BiS T8 decreasing stat values):
sp: 1.5128
crit: 1.0796
haste: 0.9788
spi: 0.2964
int: 0.2968
hit: 2.019

For set 3 (BiS T7 increasing stat values):
sp: 1.4112
crit: 0.9768
haste: 0.9292
spi: 0.2888
int: 0.2848
hit: 1.745

Averaging out Sets 1 and 2 gives an idea of the scaling factors at the T8 BiS level:
sp: 1.5054
crit: 1.0746
haste: 0.973
spi: 0.3188
int: 0.3152
hit: 2.019

Averaging Sets 1, 2 and 3 gives an idea of scaling factors across the expected gear range etc:
sp: 1.474
crit: 1.042
haste: 0.9584
spi: 0.3088
int: 0.30587
hit: 1.92767

The PP values for the Average of Sets 1 and 2:
sp: 1 PP
crit: 0.71383 PP
haste: 0.64634 PP
spi: 0.21177 PP
int: 0.20938 PP
hit: 1.34117 PP

The PP values for the Average of all 3 Sets:
sp: 1 PP
crit: 0.70692 PP
haste: 0.65020 PP
spi: 0.20950 PP
int: 0.20751 PP
hit: 1.30778 PP

For the purposes of gearing up towards the BiS T8 set from a BiS T7 baseline, we're probably better off using the Average of all 3 Sets PP results.

So, I'd propose using:
sp: 1 PP
crit: 0.70692 PP
haste: 0.65020 PP
spi: 0.20950 PP
int: 0.20751 PP
hit: 1.30778 PP

(numbers subject to change if there are any upcoming Priest changes on PTR).

The resulsts are to 5 decimal places because we tend to multiply our coefficients with stats that are 3 to 4 digits big and we give results to 2 decimal places.
However if you want simpler 2 decimal place values for easier number crunching:
spellpower: 1 PP
crit rating: 0.71 PP
haste rating: 0.65 PP
spirit: 0.21 PP
intellect: 0.21 PP
hit: 1.31 PP

Did you include all the raid buffs that other players give? (totems, ebon plague, boomkin aura etc).

Yes. This is with optimal_raid=1.

The only thing missing is a slight +spellpower buff from the deep Demo Locks that are in Raid_T8.txt. If you didn't have any deep Demo Locks in your raid anyway, then optimal_raid=1 covers everything.

Hm this makes me wonder if it's a good idea to include the values for t8 BiS increase, since there isn't any gear better than the BiS Gear and it just pushes the numbers for the ratings.
My Suggestion would be to use an average of set 2 and 3 since we're more or less atm t7 BiS gear and are gearing to T8 BiS

Well the scaling factors we've been using up to now have been based purely off increasing stats beyond whatever the gear set was.

I decided to do the same for the T8 BiS but also did the "negative" version of it, so that if you averaged those 2 together you should get a good set of scaling factors for when you're very close to the T8 BiS level.

The differences between the "increased" T8 BiS, "decreased" T8 BiS and the average are rather small anyway.

I guess I could include the values I had for the the "decreased" T7 BiS scaling tests and you could then average both of the T7 ones. And then average the T7 and the T8 sets. My only hesitation in using the decreased T7 values is that on some of the stat changing tests the values drop low enough that it has a decent impact on mana etc. Also the value of haste is greatly reduced in this "decreased" T7 BiS set.

However if you do want the data:
Set 4 is the "decreased" T7 BiS Set (had to manually remove the Dispersion action for the -int test). Results are:
sp: 1.3792
crit: 0.972
haste: 0.7012
spi: 0.2992
int: 0.2656
hit: 1.745

Which makes Average T7 BiS set:
sp: 1.3952
crit: 0.9744
haste: 0.8152
spi: 0.294
int: 0.2752
hit: 1.745

Averaging BiS T7 average with BiS T8 average:
sp: 1.4503
crit: 1.0245
haste: 0.8941
spi: 0.3064
int: 0.2952
hit: 1.882

Converted to PP:
1sp: 1 PP
crit: 0.70641 PP
haste: 0.61649 PP
spi: 0.21127 PP
int: 0.20354 PP
hit: 1.29766 PP

Rounded off:
1sp: 1 PP
crit: 0.71 PP
haste: 0.62 PP
spi: 0.21 PP
int: 0.20 PP
hit: 1.30 PP

The biggest difference is with haste. And frankly given how much it the haste result dropped when I used BiS T7 and then removed 250 haste from it (which works out to 213 haste rating), I'd be tempted to ignore it.

I think the values I gave in my earlier post will probably be good enough. We'll probably end up with a few pieces of T8 quickly enough, at which point I wouldn't want to be counting this decreased T7 set.

If you wanted to use the average of sets 2 and 3, then it would be:
sp: 1.462
crit: 1.0282
haste: 0.954
spi: 0.2926
int: 0.2908
hit: 1.882

Which gives PP values of:
sp: 1 PP
crit: 0.70328 PP
haste: 0.65253 PP
spi: 0.20014 PP
int: 0.19891 PP
hit: 1.28728 PP

Rounded:
sp: 1 PP
crit: 0.70 PP
haste: 0.65 PP
spi: 0.20 PP
int: 0.20 PP
hit: 1.29 PP

Ok I see your point now and I think I'll use the average of 1-3 for the gear list.

Hello again!

Since there is more people than me who favors Critical Strike rating over Haste Rating, I've come up with a different setup that contains alot more Crit than haste but is still high on PP. I somehow want to believe that haste looses PP after the haste cap but you can prove me wrong and I gladly accept your theory :)

I'll just make a short one without much details

Head: T8.5
Neck: Fiery Havoc
Shoulder: T8.5
Back: Drape of the Mortal Downfall
Chest: T8.5
Bracer: Bracers Unleashed Magic
Gloves: Handwraps of the Vigilant
Belt: Cord of the White Dawn
Leggings: T8.5
Boots: Sandals of Rash Temperament
Ring1: Signet of Manifested Pain
Ring2: Pyrelight Circle
Staff: Staff of Endless Winter
Wand: Quartz Crystal Wand
Trinket1: Flare of the Heavens
Trinket2: Illustration of the Dragon Soul

Enchants:
Hodir(shoulder)
Powerful stats(chest)
Superior Spellpower(bracer)
Exceptional Spellpower(gloves)
Icewalker(boots)
Double ring enchants
Spellpower (Staff)

Socket bonuses in:
Head
Neck
Shoulder
Back
Belt
Staff

The stats with my enchants:

Intellect: 903
Spirit: 367
Spellpower: 2451
Crit: 736
Haste: 378
Hit: 293

Untill I've been proved wrong about haste over softcap, this might be the setup I'll be aiming for.
Enjoy :)

There is no real haste soft-cap (until you get enough that bloodlust etc makes your GCD under 1 second).
I pretty proved it in another thread.
I don't want to hash it out again here.
There is no real haste soft-cap.

But if you feel you should go on believing in such things, do so.

There is no cap, but there is a plateau you can aim for to ensure that you can get 2mf between each mb! Being there really does push your DPS up a notch or two for 'new' raiders.

It's the plateau I was refering to, which should be around 300 haste to fit 2 MF's between each Mindblast CD.

Do you really gain as much dps from haste after that plateau? I'm just curious since I haven't spent enough time reading enough on this site :)

If it's not too much to ask for, I would appreciate a direction for the thread you made Althor :)

Boots: Boots of Fiery Resolution (Icewalker + 2 runed): 219.58 PP
Ring1: Signet of Manifested Pain : 134.55 PP
Ring2: Frozen Loop : 157.5 PP
Staff: Staff of Endless Winter (Greater Spellpower(staff) + 2 Purified Twilight Opal): 802.36 PP

correct me if i'm wrong but i think i found only 1 error:
1.) Staff: Staff of Endless Winter (Greater Spellpower(staff) + 2 Purified Twilight Opal): 802.36
is 739-ish with 2 purified opals and gaining the socket bonus (too lazy to deal with decimals right now). it looks like you added the 81 sp enchant to the 747 value provided or something, which already included that enchant in the formula (stated as +18 sp since that is the difference between the regular sp enchant and the staff).

Or show me how you got 802?

asside from that, this list is most excellent. i didn't know about the Frozen Loop until just now, which allows me to get this combo:
t8.5 pants - pp 259 4pc
Bracers of Unleashed Magic - pp 149
Frozen Loop - pp 157
Handwraps of Vigilance - pp 201
Total: 766 pp
in place of:
The Wanton Spellcaster - pp 283
Unsullied Cuffs - pp 120
Pyrelight Circle - pp 133
t8.5 gloves - pp 215 4pc
Total: 751 pp

a gain of 15 pp roughly. yay!

Edit: wanted to add that i did not use a spreadsheet for my values, i went off the best ulduar list posted on page 1 of this forum. really, how did your spreadsheet get 802?? that's going to bug me.
