Remove the nimble though bracers / shoulders. They take Hearts of darkness, which are needed by raiding guilds for SR gear. I guess on some more progressed servers they may be available for a lot of gold.

Probably want to remove Ashtongue Deathsworn talisman, since it requires rep that can only be gained in Black Temple.

You can probably add the +shadow gloves from the 1st shadow labs boss as the #2 glove slot.

You can basically check the best raiding gear thread, start at a slot, check the #1 and work your way down until you find something you can get.

If the list stops too soon and you feel like you can't get anything on the list for a certain item slot you can do some research yourself and extend the list for that slot, and ask me to put it into my post.

I'd hate to clutter up your thread though with getting into non-epics and lesser items. There is a lot of overlap with what is available for non-raiders and end game raiders in the top 5. But in some of the lists, if you aren't a tailor, and you're not raiding, you're pretty much left high and dry. Or even for those of us who are just about to start in Karazhan. Sure, we can get FSW/SS, but what else can we get before we head in?

In 1 week I'll be replacing lower city mace with arena mace which will put me at 1276 unbuffed. I got lucky with finding the Illidari cloak of shadow wrath on AH, as well as my flawless wand. I also purchased my Belt of Blasting for 1500g. But let's say you wear Girdle of Ruination instead, that's just 11 less dmg, so you'd have 1265 dmg total. And yes I do use my darkmoon trinket for fights where its useful. My guild is on Void Reaver right now, and we are starting on Lurker/Hydross very soon.

Nice list Quantam, I'm not so far behind you. I would like those rings and the couple extra points I would get from the wand and cloak. Even though I still can't seem to win Attumen's gloves. I'm happy I have those Animal Boss' bracers, I mean no one has those, so I count myself really lucky there. Just need some luck with loot that is easier to obtain.

Yea I might have to start convincing my group to do animal bosses "for fun" rofl.

I would add the socketed pieces of oblivion (head, chest, shoulders) to this list. They are hard to beat for the non-tailor.

The quest gloves, Tempest's Touch ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29317 ) , are a good standby for Attumen's gloves.

Shattrath Jumpers ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28179 ) are great boots for the non-tailor as well. Better than the Maiden's drop for a shadow priest.

Okay, updated shoulders and necklaces, that'll be it for today.

Edit: okay, so I had to kill 15 minutes before a staff meeting so I updated the hands too. The Tempest's Touch gloves elluded my first pass though. To be fast about it I put an item level filter on wow head, from 95 to 115, which is doing a pretty good job. But apparently, the Tempest Touch gloves have the absolute best possible stats for an item in that item level range. They are ilevel 88, compared to Attumen's gloves at 115.

I suggest you make a note that it requires honored Netherwing rep before you can even get the quest and to get honored Netherwing rep you have to have an epic mount.

Doesnt look casual to me but if you want to include it in the list please include the prerequisites.

Your list is awesome strawberry but if we do an armory scrape something like 80% of the shadow priests out there can't even get close to most of your listed gear. So this is a great way for everyone else to hunt down good gear for their level.

To include all the gear at this level may well just clutter you list unnecessarily.

- You should assume +9 gems. Generally speaking they go for 50g ish on most servers. There is being plenty more funds invested in some of the other crafted gear here that +7 gems are a bit of a joke.
- Ring: Lola's Eve to go with Charlotte's Ivy.
- Ring: Khorium Band of Shadows is another awesome ring available at this level.
- Trinket: Mark of Defiance is a trinket you'll find on most shadow priests at this level too.

Rick, I think a list of 'easy' upgrades so that every shadowpriest can get somewhere decent is a great idea, really.

However, if there's one thing I found ridiculous about the original list it was including all those lucky drops but because of the thread's nature, it was justified to include them, even if it are world drops or things at which you have 0.00001% chance of getting them. Here though I think you should really kick out all that crap and only include easy to obtain stuff.


I've been doing kara weekly for months and have yet to see ritsin's lost pendant drop...

The idea is that people who come to this thread can find all easy obtainable options without having to rely on excessive luck. They should also know that for every slot there exists a lucky lvl 70 shadow wrath version out there without any further stats than pure dmge. I would not include them in your list because luck is far from easy to even out of the question for some people.
Also world drops and rare stuff is unavailable to most shadowpriests. Therefore I would focus on including all crafted decent stuff and easy but decent instance upgrades mentioned here like the blue stuff stuff and even some green ones. Blue stuff like bracers of havok or natasha's is gold to starting shadowpriests.

Also the list is dmge-only based. Some shadowpriests will get the wrong idea thinking you can go in kara with 5K health... so dmge is one thing but putting a shadowwrath item without stats at number one above FSW is totally off imo. Take a look at one of the posters above who's about to go into SSC with 7.3 health buffed only to find out he's gonna die loads where his dmge will be zero. The 'simple' thrash mobs have some crazy aoe that nearly kills a decent equipped shadowpriest with almost 9K health buffed...I think you should take into account the importance of stam. The general idea is that its ok to skip stam on one or 2 items to get e.g bracers of havok because they are super cheap and easy to get for imba dmge but only and I really mean only if its justified by having enough stam on all the rest of your items. If you start skipping stam on 3 or more items you'll see your survivability and average total dps in a raid instance drop to last spot on the list instantly because you're lying face down on the floor half the encounters in there.

Finally, even though I appreciate both gear threads in their own way, I find this quick list to be the absolute most useful synthesis of both lists:
